5  mountains melt like wax at Hashem‘s presence, at the presence of the Lord of all the earth.

ha-REEM ka-do-NAG na-MA-su mi-lif-NAY a-do-NAI mi-lif-NAY a-DON kol ha-A-retz

ה  הָרִים כַּדּוֹנַג נָמַסּוּ מִלִּפְנֵי יְהֹוָה מִלִּפְנֵי אֲדוֹן כָּל־הָאָרֶץ׃

 97:5   Mountains melt like wax

In this psalm, the earth sings praise and rejoices over Hashem’s dominion. The awe-inspired elements defy the laws of nature by proclaiming God throughout the land. Mysterious clouds surround God, blazing fire precedes Him, lightning pounds the earth before Him. As for mountains melting “like wax” before Hashem, the psalmist may have been referring to the remarkable creation of the Golan Heights. The Golan Heights were created by the eruption of volcanic mountains, a geological phenomenon related to the creation of the Syria-African rift. The explosions of these mountains was of almost Godly proportions, as hot molten lava flowed for miles, creating a plateau of basalt and other types of volcanic rock.

    Nicer than All!

  • The Earth itself sings praise to God for its creation. yes I can see that. For the Earth itself is pure in its creation as perfected in the day of its creation as it was in the days of the Garden of Eden. Was it not man that defiled it by his sin though? I have to say this and wonder? However in this sense the Earth does sing for it was created by our Lord God. For once it was and is in all sense a wondrous creation of our Lord and King. A ling creation indeed I must add. We are told that mysterious clouds surround God. I understand this because we are told many centuries ago that no man can see God and live. This is God's way of protecting His children. For His Love of his children wants to protect us for we can not stand to see his Holiness our minds can not stand or except what it can not comprehend . Lightning pound the earth before him. Before we received the Ten Commandments we were told in our history that we herd what was the voice of God in many sounds that were like thunders and the children of Israel could not understand or handle the voice of God in there heads. For it was to great for them to comprehend. Thus we received the commandments and the laws.( Torah). Perhaps this is what they were talking about.

As far mountains melting before God. Perhaps it was mentioned by the psalmist either because he witness it , or by the sheer power of our God he knew anything is possible by God. In today's world I have noticed that people tend to limit the power of what God can and cannot do? Why would they even consider this I have to ask? God works through natural world because he created the natural world. makes great sense to me. Since God is God he can and will do what he wants and will do what needs to be one when he wills it to be done. The biggest mystery to me is why the world has forgotten that God himself has chosen the Jewish People to be his people. While I am not Jewish I have never forgotten that fact. never in any way considered the Jewish peoples anything ever less than God People and understood that they had been chosen to keep the faith alive until the messiah's return. What in the world is so hard about that? Carl
