א  לַמְנַצֵּחַ בִּנְגִינוֹת מִזְמוֹר לְדָוִד׃

 4:1   For the leader

The title of this psalm is lamnatzeakh (למנצח), translated as “for the leader.” The root of the word menatzeakh is נ-צ-ח, which means ‘victory.’ What does the Lord consider a victory? According to the Sages, a victory for God is achieved when the Nation of Israel is living on its land, engaged in self-actualization and maturation, and evolves from a miracle-reliant culture into a self-sustaining and law-abiding nation. Then, Hashem smiles down on them from heaven.

  • We are so blessed to experience this in our lifetime – may the full victory be soon and in our days – when all Yisrael will live this way in Peace in the Land.

  • When you live by the law follow the laws. Love the laws and love the very law giver. You as a Nation as well as a people grow. You will mature because the very act of following God's laws will strengthen both nation, peoples national identity and peoples very souls. History has always show the Jewish peoples that when they follow God's laws they prosper and grow is population and commerce and national pride. However when they fall from the love of God they fall into sinful ways and become subject to discipline from a loving but oh so firm Father God. The law has made Israel a great nation. The Love of God has made the Jewish People The Chosen of God. Carl

  • I had no idea when I moved here 40 years ago that I would contribute to Hashem’s victory! It is special indeed!
