37:34   He will raise you high that you may inherit the land

Who is worthy to inherit the Land of Israel? The psalmist comforts the righteous one who sees only the arrogant succeeding in the world. He speaks of the fleeting existence of the wicked and notes that they will ultimately fall. However, those who have faith in Hashem, wait patiently for Him, who are humble, veer from evil and engage in acts of righteousness, will eventually inherit Eretz Yisrael and inhabit it.

  • Verse 34: “… when the wicked are cut off, you shall see it.”

Compare Psalms 91:8: “You will see it with your eyes, you will witness the punishment of the wicked.”

  • I know this is ment for Isreal, but understand the burden of sin when we come to the revelation knowledge of it. Thankfully we have a redeemer ., Repentence is so important. The readings for today in Ps. have become a prayer for me.

  • Who is worthy to inherit the Land of Israel?
Indeed? Who is worthy? The true children of the one true God of Israel is the only answer that it can be. The world outside of Israel was evil and corrupt to the point of great and utter disgust. We are told not to admire the ill gains and the powers of those who but for a while may be in power and live in grandness but will soon burn like chaff in the winds of death and destruction. Those that have faith in the Lord with succeed in so many ways in the hear and now but will also have a permanent home with him for ever in the future that will never end. Those who wait for God and live for God and by the law and in His ways will benefit in all ways. They will both prosper in boy and most important grow in their souls. All these things in the body you will keep and inherit the land. If you do not humble yourself's to the will of the Lord you will lose this beloved promised land. carl
