111:6   The heritage of nations

This short psalm praises God in the form of an acrostic, each half verse beginning with a different letter of the Hebrew alphabet, in succession. The praises focus on Hashem’s justice, kindness, compassion and truth. The psalm also relates to the Lord’s wondrous acts towards His nation. Verse 6 says that God declares His power to His nation by giving them Eretz Yisrael, but it does not explain what is so remarkable about this. The Sages explain: God said to the Children of Israel, “I could have created a new land for you; instead I chose to defeat your enemies and let you inherit their land, so that you will see My power.” The Land of Israel is a gift from Hashem. It reminds the Jewish people of God’s love for His people, His strength, and the fact that when they follow His ways, He causes their enemies to melt away from them.

  • 111:6 The heritage of the nations
Even though this is a short psalm, it is packed with a very strong message pertaining to the rightful praises given to our God focusing on Gods justice, kindness, compassion and truth. It also elaborates on all that he has done for the Nation of Israel. It brings up the point that God could have even just created a whole new land mass, a new nation out of nothing for Israel. However this would not accomplish anything. God had chosen instead to have his children defeat there enemy and inherit there land. In this way they would see that because God was with them. for them, who then could be against them. That if there faith in God and in his laws that they would grow as a nation and that the children of Israel would indeed defeat all there enemies. It showed that God truly loved his nation. That there enemies would turn and run away from them. They need to see that Israel was always a gift from God. Especially to this very day. That is why Israel should never let itself be divided. Let no other nation interfere in Israels business especially to take control or to destroy her sovereignty. Unless they bare the very wrath of God for doing so. Amen. Carl.. PS. God Bless Israel, forever and always. Amen
