What did Habakkuk do in the Bible?
Habakkuk prophesied about the coming of the destructive Chaldeans (Babylonians). He also prays a powerful prayer in the last chapter of his prophecies. Despite the evil that was on its way, he asserts that God is his strength and he will rejoice in God’s salvation. There is a tradition that Habakkuk was the son of the Shunammite woman, born through the prophet Elisha’s blessing. Later, Elisha brought the child back to life after he died. See II Kings 4:16-37.
