The People of Israel were encamped around Mount Sinai, and Moses was on the mountain. God spoke to the People of Israel, relaying the Ten Commandments.

Moses later brought down two tablets written by the hand of God, but he smashed them at the sight of the Golden Calf.

After convincing God to forgive the People of Israel, Moses engraved the Ten Commandments on a second set of stone tablets and brought them to the people.
