Abraham (born as Abram) was the first person to recognize the one true God and to spread the message of monotheism to the world. He was chosen by God to be the father of His chosen nation and was promised the Land of Israel as his eternal inheritance (Genesis 12:1-7). Avraham is known for his kindness to others and strong devotion to God.
