Nachamu Ami (Comfort My People) by Safam

Isaiah 40:1-3

Sing along in Hebrew to “Nachamu Ami” performed by Safam. Lyrics taken from Isaiah 40:1-3. The video features photographs of Jerusalem.

Lyrics:
“da-bru al layv Yerushalayim
Speak to the heart of Jerusalem

“v’-ki-roo ay-ley-ha”
and call to her

“Kee mal’-ah tz’-va-ah”
her period of exile has been completed

“kee nir-tzah a’-vo-nah”
for her iniquity has been forgiven

“kee lak’-khah mee-yad mee-yad Hashem”
for she has taken from the hand of the Lord

“kif’-la-yeem b’-khol kha-to-teyha”
double for all her sins

“na-kha-mu na-kha-mu a-mee”
“Comfort, comfort my people,”

“na-kha-mu na-kha-mu yo-mar E’-lo-kay-khem”
“comfort, comfort,” says your God.

  • God does not comfort us to make us comfortable, but to make us comforters.

  • Those pictures of Y'rushalyem transport me back to the short time I got to spend in that wonderful place….

  • I pray all of Israel will know His comfort. His hand is most definitely stretched out for you.

  • Wonderful. Isaiah is such a great prophet and this song very beautiful.

  • I woke yesterday morning and had this tune buzzing around my head …

    “na-kha-mu na-kha-mu a-mee”
    “Comfort, comfort my people,”
    “na-kha-mu na-kha-mu yo-mar E’-lo-kay-khem”
    “comfort, comfort,” says your God.

I truly believe that HaShem has called us to be a comfort to Israel at this time.

  • Thank you Safam, another beautiful song. May it be that Israel does know that comfort, even from those of us who, though not Israeli, love the land and people.

  • This video was a part of my prayer time and I could not have prayed as beautiful as the words of this song to HaShem. Thank you.

  • Beautiful song!
I saw lots of new pictures in this video that I haven’t seen before. It was hard to choose whether to follow the words or look at the beautiful scenery.
