North American immigrants landing at Ben Gurion airport
The “ingathering of the exiles,” known in Hebrew as kibbutz galuyot (קיבוץ גלויות), is promised in multiple places throughout the Bible. Although they are scattered throughout the four corners of the earth, Yechezkel declares that one day, God will gather the People of Israel and return them to their ancient soil, the Land of Israel. For centuries, Jews have been praying three times daily for the fulfillment of this prophecy in their central prayer, known as the amidah. With the establishment of the State of Israel and the many waves of immigration that have taken place in recent history, we are fortunate to witness the beginning of the fulfillment of this tremendous miracle.
14I will feed them in good grazing land, and the lofty hills of Yisrael shall be their pasture. There, in the hills of Yisrael, they shall lie down in a good pasture and shall feed on rich grazing land.
