Rabbi Shlomo Aviner

ShlomoAviner

(1943-present) – Originally from France, he served in the Israeli Defense Forces and studied under Rabbi Tzvi Yehuda Kook at the famed Mercaz HaRav seminary.  He is the Rabbi of the town of Beit El and Head of the Ateret Yerushalayim seminary in the Old City of Jerusalem.  He is the author of hundreds of books, including a commentary on the Book of Judges.

Rabbi Shlomo Chaim Hacohen Aviner (Hebrew:

שלמה חיים הכהן אבינר‬, born 1943/5703 as Claude Langenauer) is an Israeli Orthodox rabbi, born in France. He is the rosh yeshiva of the Ateret Yerushalayim yeshiva (formerly known as Ateret Cohanim) in Jerusalem, and the rabbi of Bet El. He is considered one of the spiritual leaders of the Religious Zionist movement.
