Rabbi Meir Bar Ilan

(1880-1949)- Born in Russia and moved to the United States in 1915 where he became an important leader in the Mizrachi Religious Zionist Movement.  He moved to the Land of Israel in 1926 where he continued to lead Mizrachi and the struggle for a Jewish state in the Land of Israel. Bar Ilan University in Israel is named in his memory.
