Rabbi Levi ben Gershon

(1288-1344) – Commonly known by his acronym Ralbag (Rabbi Levi ben Gershon) or Gersonides.  He was a philosopher, mathematician, astronomer, Talmudist and Bible commentator. He lived in France and wrote both biblical commentary and philosophical works.
