S\u00f3lo se nombra a los seres humanos, como est\u00e1 escrito: \u00abHagamos al hombre<em>(Ad\u00e1n<\/em>)\u00bb (G\u00e9nesis 1:26). \u00bfQu\u00e9 significa este nombre y qu\u00e9 nos ense\u00f1a sobre la singularidad de la humanidad?  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La palabra hebrea <em>Ad\u00e1n<\/em> comparte la misma ra\u00edz que <em>adama, <\/em>la palabra hebrea para \u00abtierra\u00bb. La Biblia ense\u00f1a que el primer ser humano fue hecho \u00abde la tierra\u00bb, como est\u00e1 escrito: \u00abY el Se\u00f1or Dios form\u00f3 al hombre del polvo de la tierra\u00bb (G\u00e9nesis 2:7). <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sin embargo, el hombre no fue la \u00fanica criatura formada a partir de la tierra. Superficialmente, el hombre y el animal parecen ser fundamentalmente lo mismo, pues ambos se formaron a partir de la <em>adama<\/em>. \u00abDios dijo: \u00abProduzca la tierra toda clase de seres vivientes\u00bb (G\u00e9nesis 1:24). Pero el hombre es algo m\u00e1s que la tierra.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ad\u00e1n fue creado \u00aba imagen de Dios\u00bb (G\u00e9nesis 1:27), y \u00absopl\u00f3 en su nariz aliento de vida\u00bb (G\u00e9nesis 2:7). Aunque nuestros cuerpos proceden de la misma tierra que los animales, Dios nos cre\u00f3 con un alma superior y un prop\u00f3sito m\u00e1s elevado.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Aunque el nombre <em>Ad\u00e1n<\/em> est\u00e1 vinculado a <em>adama<\/em> (tierra), tambi\u00e9n lo est\u00e1 a una palabra totalmente distinta, <em>edameh<\/em>, que significa \u00abser\u00e9 como\u00bb. Como afirma el vers\u00edculo de Isa\u00edas \u00ab\u00a1Subir\u00e9 por encima de las alturas de las nubes; <em>ser\u00e9 semejante<\/em><em>(edameh<\/em>) al Alt\u00edsimo!\u00bb. (Isa\u00edas 14:14). <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La humanidad, <em>Ad\u00e1n<\/em>, debe elegir. Podemos elegir actuar como animales y ser personas f\u00edsicas, de la tierra<em>(adama<\/em>). O podemos elegir controlar nuestros deseos y emular a Dios y Sus santos caminos<em>(edameh<\/em>).
