15 All Yehuda rejoiced over the oath, for they swore with all their heart and sought Him with all their will. He responded to them and gave them respite on every side.

15:15 For they swore with all their heart
Asa leads the people of Yehuda and Binyamin to recommit themselves wholeheartedly to God. They understand that to find Hashem, and for Him to remain with them, they must swear their absolute loyalty to Him. As such, Asa gathers the people together in Yerushalayim where they make an oath to serve Hashem, renewing the covenant first established by Moshe at Mount Sinai. In turn, God makes Himself available to them and grants them peace in the land.
